PANTALOOOOOOOOOOOOOONS

Time for another update. Guess we can start with the xping.

Since my last update I've taken jobs to the following:
MNK 47->53
BLU 24->27
DRG 21->26

Of course, hitting MNK 50+ meant it's time for AF and thus Mirewen and I went and did our AF2 quests together.



Mine was really easy. Just had to kill some weak orcs and deal with crowd control links. Her's was a little harder and we had to get some backup to help us get it done.


We've also gotten our lvl 54 AF already, and gotten our coffer keys for lvl 56 as well. MNK/BRD is progressing very well!

Done a few other things too.


Finally made my way up the ranks of the Assault world again. Just have one more rank to go. Since my static only meets on sundays, I plan to start going with another group on Thursdays as well. Hopefully that will expidite the process a bit. I'm wanting to hit the next rank so I can try out the new scythe they added in the update.


I also got bored and started going through some of my quest log just doing random quests that I never got around to doing. Even though quests really have nothing tangible to offer me anymore, I still love some of the little stories that most people miss out on with their focus on gear and gear alone. Oh well, I'm a quest whore so more for me!


Last and certainly not least, I FINALLY acquired the one piece of relic that I've wanted every since I started doing Dynamis ages ago, my Cleric's Pantaloons! Even though I'm currently not even doing end-game activities right now, I still am really glad to have a pair of these finally.

Just a bit more xp, nothing serious

Gonna try to update more often again so I don't go for weeks without updating and miss any good stories or whatever.

Started off on the 16th xping on BLU. I get invited to a pt that looks pretty promising and even has a bonus PLer which isn't really necessary but whatever, I wanna hurry and get these jobs to 37 and be done w/ them. However, 2 fights in and we get this!



wtcrap! Er anyway, the NIN and the PL (who was the same person dual boxing) never came back, so we're left without a tank. Being the resourceful fellow I am, I go swap to /WAR sub and come back and tank for a while. It goes okay, with Cocoon up I don't really take much damage. Members come and members go, eventually we get a PLD and I don't have to tank anymore. I make it about 1/3 of the way into lvl 23 and then the pt disbands.

At that point, I am without Poison Breath (lvl 22 spell from hounds) and Soporifc (lvl 24 spell from flytraps) so I figure I'll go pick those up. I start off going to Carpenters' Landing to solo some flytraps there. About about 15 of them, 3 or 4 of which used it, I picked it up. Hurray! After that, I chocoboed to Gusgen Mines to fight some Bandersnatches (kekeke) for Poison Breath. This turned out to be a bit annoying as they have one move (I forget the name offhand) that gives you the Virus status where you can't rest hp/mp and it lasts forever (10+ minutes). Luckily I only got hit with it twice and after the first use of Poison Breath I learned it! I noticed I was only about 1k from 24 at that point so I went to the skeleton mobs near the entrance and Bludgeon'd the crap out of them to hit 24.


That leads to today. I started today off by majorly oversleeping and entering Dynamis-San d'Oria late. I need nothing from the zone, but I try to attend every run regardless so I hurried my ass there asap after waking up. Turns out I picked up some relic afterall when these went to freelot. I waited and waited for someone higher level to lot and no one did so I laid claim to them. I'm wanting to level SMN anyway, so might as well since no one else wanted them.


After Dynamis, I made dinner and wasn't really sure what if anything I'd be doing for the rest of the day. Turns out Mirewen's evening was free so we went ahead and built a pt for our MNK/BRD static.

Everything seemed perfect. The pt setup was NIN, MNK, BRD, WAR, RDM, BLU. We went to fight Rumbles in the Crawlers' Nest and the camp was wide open. But unfortunately for us, the two most important facets of the pt, the tank and the main healer, both totally sucked. Everyone had to ask repeatedly for the RDM to Refresh them, he would wait abnormally long times to Cure if he even did, he would Curaga himself when no one was near him, etc. The NIN failed at holding hate and at Provoking, usually leaving myself and the WAR and BLU to tank.

The NIN decided to log to try to remove some lag. At this point, I was pretty frustrated with the pt in general and, with the pt's approval, decided to replace the NIN with a PLD that was seeking. The NIN eventually came back and I told him we repped him so he left, didn't seem overly bothered about it. Once the PLD joined, things got much much better. The RDM eventually started refreshing without asking (sometimes) and the PLD was really good at holding hate, so I could go nuts on the mobs without having to worry about pulling hate too much, and Counterstance and Dodge took care of the occasional hate pulling. We went from 45 to 47, and there was much rejoicing. Yay. MNK is fun, I'm already putting out some pretty high numbers even at this level..


Afterwards, I still wasn't overly sleepy so I suited up DRG in hopes of getting it up closer 25 (that's when BLU and DRG both get their next gear upgrades). I get an invite pretty quickly but the pt just sucks. Nothing worth talking about, and after 2 hours of pting I don't even get 3k xp total and disband still at lvl 21. Oh well, off to bed I go.

Long Time No See!

Howdy folks, looks like I kinda forgot to update this thing for a while, lol. Rather than try to recall everything I've done in the past 1.5 months, I'll just post some random screenshots that highlight the more interesting stuff with some really brief summaries!

Chocobo Fun


IndigoRhapsody as a teen, and most importantly, she's BLUE! Turns out she's pretty smart too. I wanted to get her Gallop for max speed boost and well, on Day 27 of raising her...


Ding ding! Now I have her going hardcore on strength and endurance. She's gonna grow up to make me so proud..! *tear*

Speaking of growing up...


Here's her now, just freshly in adulthood stage. Hope she enjoyed that Better Than Average receptivity cause it won't last much longer when I work on nonstop str/end, lol.

XP Fun

As mentioned before, I plan to take every job to lvl 37 at least. Well, I've made some pretty good progress on that. Since the last update, I've done the following:

MNK 31->45
PLD 30->37
DRG 13->21
BLU 13->21

Fun with UFOs

Well before fun with UFOs, I suppose I should mention that I have gotten PLD up from 24 last entry to 30 now. Did some Jailers, did some Assaults, did some Dynamis, all that jazz. Nothing particularly interesting to note from those. So that leads in to today...

After dinging 30 PLD Cami sends a tell saying he wants yovra organs. I need 2 myself so I find a replacement and head out to sea. Ul'yovras are old news for us and we duo two of them without a hitch. No organs drop though, so Cami says "Wanna try an Om?" and despite my best judgement I say "Sure, why not?"

So, off we go to attempt to duo an Om'Yovra. If you aren't familiar with sea, the Om mobs are the much more difficult versions of the other mobs, and Yovras are the hardest regular sea mobs. Not really prepared for it or anything, had enough pineapples left over from PLD xping to make 7 pineapple juices. So went in with just that for refresh and off we went.


Wasn't too much different from the Ul except for much more hp and dealing much more dmg when it hit him. We managed to fight the thing for right about 30 minutes (buffs were wearing when mp finally gave out and we wiped). We managed to get it just below 50% hp before it won.



Well, never ones to take a loss lightly, we call in a reinforcement in the form of Crosis who heads out on BRD. Well, it was much simpler when he got there and we trioed it with ease. Flamey came out to watch and once it was obvious there was no way we'd lose we let him join in for the kill. This actually lead to a pretty funny moment where Cami, Crosis, and Flamey all got charmed and I had to haul ass, but the charm didn't last long enough to make it really funny. :/



Hurray for an organ. Went back and killed the easier ones again quickly as a group afterwards and another dropped. Cami got them both and next trip I'll hopefully get mine. I'm 2 yovra and 1 hpemde away from a Light Gorget for my MASSIVE DAMAGE HEXA STRIKES.

Levelling

The time since my last update has been a blur. I've done a whole lot of levelling and I've been busy RL as well. There were some really fun times, especially levelling MNK with Mirewen's BRD, but to try to put any of it down in writing now just wouldn't do them justice. I took SAM from 31 to 37, taken MNK from 20 to 31 with Mirewen's BRD as previously mentioned. I dinged BST from 52 to 53 exclusively off of xp scrolls. I got a few merit points and finished off my Critical Hit merits. I've taken PLD from 19 to 24 and currently pushing it towards 37 as well. I made a decision that I'm already starting to regret that I want to get all of my jobs to at least lvl 37 so I will always have every available subjob for anything I ever choose to continue levelling. When you look at my jobs, I don't really have a whole lot to go really but there are a few I'm really not looking forward to (sup DRG and BLU). I haven't decided what if anything will be my next time to 75. I'm enjoying MNK with Mirewen but I debated swapping to either BLM or NIN when I hit 37. I'm also thinking about continuing on with PLD, though not really sure on that one.. it would be able I got the other jobs to 37 first.

Again, there have been some good stories and funny shit happening during all this time, but covering it just won't be possible so I won't try. Aside from all of the aforementioned levelling, I managed to pick up a few items as well:


Hurray! These are by far the best magic gear swap hands available for DRK, and definitely not something most DRKs are going to have so pretty proud to have these.


Not a particularly great item, but got this drop in Dynamis-Jeuno last week.


Big thanks to my friend Kahsha for helping me finally get this stupid thing. Ended up going 1/8 overall to get it.

So I got charmed along with some others and Cami took it upon himself to save the rest of the group from my scythe of doom! At least I claimed one victim before I got Combowned. :(

Trio Trio Trio

Well, time for another update. Feb 1st was boring and don't really remember what I did. Today there was maintenance so we collected some ToDs to camp tomorrow (though I'll be in Dynamis for most of that time, but hopefully Element can claim something). Relatively uneventful day until after I duo an ENM with Cami (crap drops this time) and we start talking about Fenrir, wondering if we could trio it. Well, not much else to do and nothing to lose but xp, I convinced Mishaela to come be our suicidal WHM and I suited up BRD and Cami of course came on MNK/NIN and we decided to give the puppy a try.

It wasn't too encouraging seeing a JP pt recovering from a wipe when we got to Full Moon Fountain, but after raising their last member and buffing and all that good stuff, we entered the battlefield. The plan was pretty straightfoward. I gave Cami minuet/march and Mishaela kept him hasted. That optimized damage and Utsusemi recast. Kept her Ballad'd and kept Fenrir Elegy'd. Around 55% (if we made it there) I would Soul Voice March and Dark Carol.

Well, we get the fight started and go to work. Fenny's life bar falls surprisingly fast and aside from a few weaponskills Cami doesn't really take much damage. It actually looked like we had a chance when we got it to about 60% or so and still had most of our mage's mp. I pop Soul Voice, get March and Carol up, give Mish double SV Ballad, re-Elegy Fenny, and shortly after that he 2hrs, causing minimal interruption to our team. Mish Benedictions for a quick recovery and the rest of the fight pretty much goes without a hitch. As you can see from the screenshot below, Fenny died about the same time SV wore off. Was suprisingly easy.


We set the record (kind of a joke, since there was no record due to maintenance :P) and that JP group ended up wiping a second time. Oops. Was a fun fight, we handled it really well. Oh, and I got me one of those Fenrir's Torques the kids are always talking about these days.


1300 mp with my maximum mp gear on now for WHM, not even subbing SMN. Pretty darn good for a mithra in my opinion. Just need to get me some Zenith Mitts and maybe Zenith Boots and then I'm about as good as I can get as far as max mp is concerned.

Finally!!!

Well, tonight they finally dropped for me! What you might ask? My Abyss Gauntlets! I was totally shocked and since it's loldrk relic I had no counterlotters (though I'm pretty sure if I did that they would've passed, hehe).


Hurray! So of course promptly after the run I went and gathered the 1 byne and got Nolie to make me a Darksteel Sheet since the AH was out at the time and I turned them in.


Good times. I'll be sure to post a pic of the +1s when I get them as well. Aside from that, been a good few days. Got a few merits that I put into critical hits then Mirewen and I got our low lvl jobs to level 20. Can't wait to try out those Boreas Cesti at lvl 30!
