So what has happened since the last blog update? Did some meriting, enough to take h2h from lvl 0 to lvl 5...


What else? Oh yeah....


I got Retribution. It's a cool looking ws, even though I like Spirit Taker in general for stealing mp. But it's still pretty cool and thanks to Mirewen and Gotterdammerung for making it happen.

Most importantly, my small little assault group (myself, Mirewen, Gotter, and Cami) has been having a lot of luck with the Azure Experiments assault...



I think that speaks for itself. We got both of the really awesome items in the span of a few days. Grats to Mire for her sexy boots and grats to me for one of the coolest items in the game! I'm still shocked I actually got it. :o Now to get 3 more of each!

Mirewen's been having a really good streak of luck lately too! In addition to the Ataractic Solea, she also got a Cleric's Briault from dynamis and well, I think this really speaks for itself...

Pants!!!

We'll start out this entry by calling out a liar. By name. That's right, I'm calling you out... COO KEJA THE UNSEEN!


You can claim to be "unseen" all you want to, but I totally saw you. Lying piece of crap. Oh right, pants. Well, we did Dynamis-San d'Oria last Saturday and I picked up another swell piece of MNK relic...


Hurray! That'll come in handy since I don't have Byakko's Haidate, right? The next Dynamis we did on Tuesday was Xarcabard and lo and behold.... MORE PANTS!


Hurray, another pair of pants! I took a brief vacation from acquiring pants to do some other random things in the meantime. I helped Mirewen out with learning Black Halo (grats again!) while also managing to get my staff skill high enough for my staff trials weapon. I also finished up the ZM16 fight I never got around to doing (gonna do slivers tomorrow and try to get AN done!). Dinged 55 bst off of xp scrolls so now whenever I finally decide to level it for real I'll have Rampage! Oh and also did some meriting... did enough meriting for 7 merits which continued the lullaby recast path for me.


Oh right, one more thing. I also picked up one more pair of pants....


This one was a bit unexpected, but after CashTheVain went 3/5 on haidate drops today from some very very generous Byakkos I picked up the 3rd pair of these that dropped. Thanks to everyone in CtV for helping me get my hands on these bad boys!

New toys

Well, not a whole lot to report in the past few days but I did get a few new toys yesterday so I thought I'd toss together another quickie update.

First of all yesterday started off with some light meriting. I whipped out the ol' bard since I'm really wanting a few key pieces of gear before I use mnk in cannon pts. PT'd with Mirewen and Gotter again along with Milgard, Godofdeath, and some horrible gimptard MNK whose name isn't worth remembering (gogo Arhat's gear?!). Merited enough for 3 merit points. I decided the next thing I'd merit after scythe is Lullaby recast since I'll probably be brding it up most of the time for my merits.


Afterwards we (being myself, Mirewen, Gotter, Milgard) joined up with Tailss to help Mirewen get Savage Blade. There ended up being some goofy drama here that isn't worth mentioning really, just silly things involving a group that followed behind us and mooched off our opening the Altepa Gate. I took some SSes of the fight and of her using Savage Blade but all of them look horrible for some reason. :/ I'll try to snag a good pic soon and edit it in or something.

After that, I spent a little bit of time in Sea with Gotter and we got me my 10 xzomit organs I need for Soil Gorget for Asuran Fists. All I need is the yovra organ now so I'll have to bug Cami about that. Took a break from the game after that until it was time for Dynamis-Jeuno in Encore. The run was disappointing in that we only got 3 relic and maybe 160 or so total coins despite owning most of the zone (where oh where have our THFs gone?!). However, the third relic that dropped was Melee Gloves, and I had no counterlotters.


Huzzah! I still really want the legs, but now I can do some pretty nice Chakras having this piece and Genbu's Kabuto, Bibiki Seashell, etc.

Finished up the evening hanging out with Willian and Cami. First we went and keeled Tres Duendes again, and he finally put out with a decent drop for a change. My lotting power was strong today so I picked them up...


These will really come in handy when I resume soloing on PUP again in the near future, as well as for anything level capped on MNK. Finished the night off helping Cami duo his SAM af helm bcnm thing against three demons. Was pretty easy after the first one went down.

Oh, and apparently I somehow totally forgot to post this in my last entry, but I also got another nice MNK toy back on Saturday...

75 MNK

Thanks to the Anniversary Ring (R.I.P :/), Mirewen and I quickly went from 72 to 75 the past couple days.



Also picked up an extra merit point so I got this too.

All subbed out

Whelp, I dinged 37 on my COR today which means I've reached my goal of getting every job to 37.


Such a beautiful sight! Though I have no idea now what I'm going to do as my next goal. I guess I'll try to hit my merits harder since MNK is almost to 75 now.

Also did a bit of meriting today. Got 5 merits, dumped 3 into Scythe skill.

ASURAN FISTS!

Well, first thing I've done since my last update is rank up in assault.

After obtaining my rank, I finally got to snag a toy I've been wanting since it came out, the Perdu Sickle! It's the Maneater of scythes, and I've only seen a couple people using one ever.

Sexy. The scythe isn't a dat mod like the drk outfit, that's what it really looks like. I also got Amir Boots but they are less sexy so no pic of that. They are awesome statwise though!

I also got RNG up to 37 since the last update. I did the last 3k or so on xp scrolls so a lvl 36 ss will have to do!

I look cute in Noct gear. Oh well, I get to see it a bit longer as I work on COR and finishing up my getting all jobs to 37 silly idea.

Speaking of levelling up, Mirewen and I got our MNK/BRD combo up to lvl 71 yesterday! Hurray!

Of course, lvl 71 means unlockable weapon skill! And unlike most jobs, MNK actually has a really good and useful one! I get my 300 ws points that night and this morning, some solo and some with Willian's help. Right as I'm turning in my trials weapon I get a tell from Crosis asking me to merit. I really want to get my ws unlocked but I also know my DRK needs meriting asap so I can start on MNK merits. So I ask if he can help w/ Asuran Fists after meriting and he says sure np so I suit up BRD and merit it up. Got 4 total merits in the pt, giving me 6 total which I dumped into Scythe skill for drk.

After the pt most of us went to the Bost[tab] and made short work of the nm. Thanks to Crosis, Livvy, and Silfer for lending a hand there. I hurried my way over to Bastok afterwards and...

Hurray! I haven't used it yet, wanted to wait till I xp again so it'll feel fun and new the first time I use it. Plus I want Mirewen around to see it!

Monthly update, lol

Looks like I went a month without updating. Oopsie. As per usual, instead of trying to remember every single thing I did I'll just try to post a few highlights, with pics as appropriate.

MONK

MNK is still a blast, and enjoying it so much more since I'm staticing with Mirewen and we always have a great time together. It was even better since the last update because we pted with several fun people multiple times, including Cursed, Shyrra, Neosquall, Shillo, Myrrh, Phraust, and so many more. Great times and amazingly fast xp were had by all!





Dragoon/Blue Mage

So these were both finished rather abruptly. A couple days ago I was 33 drg and 34 blu. My bud Demonknightx asked if I wanted to pt on my drg when I was about to seek so I was cool with that. We built a pt that ended up being an all-night marathon pt that took me from 33 to 37. It was crazy, it lasted seemingly forever, and I got to retire the polearm and Knirps at least for now.


Inspired by this, I decided to hurry with Blue Mage so I could start selling off that gear. So the next day I went out and got Digest solo then Dual Wielded my friend Willian's account to learn Pinecone Bomb from the Treants in Batallia then seeked pt. Well once again I get into my second amazing Garlaige pt in as many days at straight shoot from 34 to 37!

Huzzah! Two jobs down and two to go! So not wasting any time....

Ranger

This actually happened today. I seek pt for literally 4 seconds and get a pt invite that mentions a pl. That'd be silly to turn down, right? So I get into a nice morning-long xp pt that goes from Yuhtunga to Yhoator in style, constant fun chains and such. Went from 25 (dinged 25 the night before) to 29.


Everything Else

First of all I have to thank Cami and Malika for helping me out in acquiring my Dune Boots for my MNK. It was an epic trio battle and it ended with me dying post Benediction and the nm barely dying afterwards. It was crazy and a whole hell of a lot of fun. One of the most exciting battles I've done in a long time really.



On a lighter note, I was helping Mirewen get her Minstrel's Coat (which somehow I forgot to screencap :/) and afterwards I went to Norg for a job change and pulled off another Lady Luck win, my 5th in my FFXI career.

I'll end this longass update with a little dynamis fun.


We ended up doing Dynamis-Bastok on Saturday and the drops were falling like crazy. I snagged my first piece of MNK relic and also got Saotome Kote for whenever I decide to do SAM (nice to already have the best piece!). Didn't snag a SS of the Kote since it was near the end of the run, but as you can see from that epic lot pool, the zone wasn't holding out on us.
